David Gower has over 20 years of experience in exploration with Falconbridge, Noranda (now X-strata) most recently as Director of Global Nickel and PGM exploration. He was a member of the Senior Operating Team responsible for mining projects with Falconbridge. He has led exploration teams which were responsible for brownfields discoveries at Raglan and Sudbury, Matagami, Falcondo – DR, and greenfield discoveries at Araguaia in Brazil, Kabanga in Tanzania and significant increases in known resources at Kabanga in Tanzania and El Pilar in Mexico.

Helio Diniz has spent more than 26 years in exploration, most recently as Director of Exploration, Brazil for Noranda – Falconbridge (now Xstrata) where he was a primary discoverer of the Araguaia Nickel Deposits which are currently undergoing scoping studies by Xstrata. He also assembled one of the most impressive IOCG property portfolios in the renowned and prolific Carajas Mineral District and the land position at Mangabal which is a current focus for Castillian. With Gencor, he was involved in the evaluation and development of the Sao Bento gold mine, which operated for 25 years.
Joaquin Merino, Vice President Exploration
Joaquin Merino has eleven years of work experience as an explorationist and underground mine geologist in Spain, Portugal, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela and Papua New Guinea. He has experience exploring for gold, silver and base metals in high-low sulphidation, porphyry gold-copper, volcanic massive sulphide, skarn, greenstone belts, alkaline hosted and alluvial gold deposits. As a mine geologist, he has experience in precious metal narrow veins and polymetallic underground mines. Mr. Merino has experience in planning and supervising exploration programs for grassroots projects and economic evaluation of mining operations. He also has experience in the aspects of underground mine: grade control, reserve evaluation, mine planning, definition drilling, data base management and mine reconciliation.
Greg Duras, Chief Financial Officer
Greg Duras joined Apogee in June 2007, bringing with him more than a decade of corporate and project finance experience in the resource sector. Prior to assuming this role, he held the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration at S.C. Rosia Montana Gold Corporation S.A. (RMGC), a mineral exploration and mining development company based in Romania with responsibility for financial reporting, project financing, taxation, auditing and budgeting activities. Prior to RMGC, Mr. Duras held a number of senior finance roles, including Controller of TSX-listed Gabriel Resources Ltd. and High River Gold Mines Ltd. Mr. Duras is a Certified General Accountant and a Certified Professional Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Administration from Lakehead University.

Prior to joining Apogee, he was a lawyer at a major Canadian law firm, with a focus on securities law. He is the corporate secretary and in-house counsel for a number of public companies. He holds a J.D. and a M.A. from the University of Toronto, and obtained a B.A. from Queen’s University
